Introduction: Why I Chose VOCO Hotel Myeongdong

When traveling, I always prioritize location, comfort, and value for money when choosing a hotel.
During my recent stay in Seoul, I decided to book VOCO Hotel Myeongdong, a modern yet affordable hotel
nestled right next to Namdaemun Market and Hoehyeon Station.

I booked two rooms for a weekend stay, including breakfast, and surprisingly, it only cost around ₩200,000($140) per night per room.
For the location and quality of service, it was an absolute steal!

This review covers everything you need to know about VOCO Hotel Myeongdong, including:

    πŸ›️ Room Condition & Comfort

The rooms at VOCO Hotel Myeongdong are modern, clean, and spacious for a budget hotel.
I was surprised by the room size, which was comfortable compared to many hotels in Seoul.

Comfortable beds – not too firm, not too soft
Spacious room layout – perfect for two people
Well-maintained bathroom with a bathtub – perfect for soaking after a long day of walking

    🚿 Bathtub Highlight:
After a full day of exploring Seoul, I took a long, hot bath. It was the best way to unwind! If you’re someone
who walks a lot while traveling, you’ll appreciate having a bathtub.

🍾 Free Minibar & Delicious Welcome Treats

One of the unexpected perks at VOCO Hotel Myeongdong was the complimentary minibar and delicious welcome treats!

    🍹 Minibar (FREE!):
    ✔ Drinks(Coke, Orange Juice..)
    ✔ Bottled water
✔ A selection of local Korean snacks

    πŸͺ Welcome Treats:
✔ Small selection of traditional Korean sweets & chocolates
✔ Nicely presented with a handwritten welcome note

✔Welcome treat was so delcious so I couldnt wait. Sorry for no photo

πŸ’‘ Most budget hotels don’t offer a free minibar, so this was a pleasant surprise!

    🍽 Breakfast: Surprisingly Impressive Selection

    πŸ“ Breakfast Restaurant: 2nd Floor
    πŸ“ Lounge: 18th Floor

I didn’t expect much from the breakfast buffet, but it was actually better than expected!
The variety of options was surprisingly good for the price.

    Korean & Western selections available
Freshly baked pastries & decent coffee
Healthy options like yogurt, fruit, and salad

πŸ’‘ If you’re staying here, I highly recommend booking a room with breakfast included. It’s a great way to start your day!

    πŸ›Ž️ Check-in & Service Experience

    πŸ•’ Check-in Process (A Bit of a Hassle)

I arrived at 11 AM expecting to only drop off my luggage, but they allowed me to check in early!
However, the process was slightly inconvenient because:

They required an ID & physical credit card (no digital payments allowed)
The front desk was quite busy

    πŸšͺ Check-out & Crowds

The next morning, I saw a huge crowd waiting to check in.
VOCO Hotel Myeongdong is clearly a popular hotel, so check-in time can get busy.

πŸ’‘ Tip: If possible, try to check in earlier in the day to avoid long waiting times.
